Living with anxiety and depression can be overwhelming.

It may feel like fear is taking over your life and keeping you from some of the things you enjoy and value most. I prioritize creating a safe environment and trusting therapeutic relationship with clients. Our work together will emphasize your values, strengths, and goals to develop a collaborative plan to re-engage with life.

Lilah Gosman, LPC

I’m a licensed professional counselor in Center City, Philadelphia, offering psychotherapy for adults, adolescents and children using a compassionate approach to evidence-based therapies from a cognitive behavioral therapy perspective (CBT). I am highly trained in well-researched, effective therapies that provide clients with lasting tools to manage anxiety and OCD in the long-term. I’m trained in Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Comprehensive Behavioral Model for treating BFRB’s including trichotillomania and skin picking (ComB), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Prolonged Exposure (for PTSD). My practice includes techniques from Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.

My specialties are in treating Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Body-focused repetitive behaviors such as trichotillomania (hair pulling) and excoriation (skin picking), and the full spectrum of anxiety disorders including panic, phobias and social anxiety.  Other symptoms often come up related to a primary diagnosis of OCD or anxiety disorders. I also work with individuals experiencing ADHD, executive dysfunction, Depersonalization Derealization Disorder, trauma, grief and loss and depressive symptoms. I believe that self-compassion and a strong therapeutic bond are essential to making significant progress and taking full advantage of the transformational aspects of therapy.
